Most of the experiences and adventures at Disney World are available to anyone who has a reservation (where needed) and is willing to pay. But Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is a little different. Because of its unique location on a savanna, it can offer some very special experiences. And three of those special experiences are available only to people who are guests of the Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas.
Let’s look at these three fun adventures:
Wanyama Safari
This late afternoon safari, limited to just twelve lucky Lodge or Villa guests each day, involves a 1.5 hour drive around the savanna in an open-air vehicle. After seeing plenty of animals – and taking plenty of pictures – you can enjoy a wonderful African-inspired multi-course prix fix meal with wine at Jiko – The Cooking Place. The minimum age is 8, and the cost is a bit steep at $179 per person, but you get an incredible experience.
Night Vision Safari
The final experience we have that is exclusive to the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Villas takes place after dark. Using night vision goggles, a party limited to just ten people gets to see the nighttime activity of animals in a completely unique way. Children must be at least 8 years old to participate, and the cost is $70. This safari normally takes place four days a week.
