Do you miss Disney’s Funmeister?

Do you even remember Funmeister?

If you were a fan of Pleasure Island, you may have seen Funmeister but never realized that he had a name.

Funmeister was the mascot for Pleasure Island in the 1990s. He appeared in many different versions of the Pleasure Island logo. With a crescent moon for a head, Funmeister seemed to symbolize all that Pleasure Island represented back in its prime: nighttime party fun for adults.

In time, as Pleasure Island started to scale back and move away from its “New Year’s Eve Every Night” theme, Funmeister started to disappear.

As best I know, Funmeister is now gone from Disney Springs / Disney Springs. However, many folks still have fond memories of Funmesiter and enjoy remembering the good old days when he was around and partying down.

About D23 Attraction Rewind

Back in November 2014, D23, the official Disney fan club, hosted an event called “Destination D: Attraction Rewind” at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Hotel. During the event many speakers and Disney Legends told stories about the history of Disney attractions. They also discussed the importance of the 1964 World’s Fair to Walt Disney and his efforts to develop theme park attractions.

In addition to great presentations, the event also offered something very special for Disney fans: A “Mickey’s of Glendale” pop up store.

Mickey’s of Glendale is a Cast Member store on the campus of Walt Disney Imagineering in Glendale, California. It is normally not open to the general public.

For the Attraction Rewind event, D23 offered exclusive Imagineering merchandise including quite a few Limited Edition Disney Trading Pins.

Let’s take a look at what you can win this week:
