It started in 1837.
That is when Hans Christian Andersen published his story about a mermaid who was willing to give up her life in the water to win the love of a human prince.
These days, I think that the accountants at Disney are very thankful to Mr. Anderen.
When Disney’s The Little Mermaid film came on the scene back in 1989, it was a hit. The movie cost $40 million to make and earned more than $200 million at the box office. It has undoubtedly brought in hundreds of millions more in toy and clothing sales, as well as drawing crowds to the Disney’s theme parks.
Even though the movie is 25 years old, it is still incredibly popular.
Disney recently released a limited edition animation cell featuring the Little Mermaid. Disney made only 650 of these pieces of art.
Disney sold the cell at the Animation Gallery inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios. During the release weekend the talented artists who actually hand painted the cell were on hand to provide autographs.
Today you have a chance to win this amazing work of art.
It includes the hand painted limited edition cell professionally mounted in a beautiful frame. It also includes a special Disney Trading pin as well as a Certificate Of Authenticity and the signatures of the artists.
