What’s Next for EPCOT

There is plenty happening all across Disney World.  In the recent past, the company has made significant investments in the Magic Kingdom with New Fantasyland, Disney’s Animal Kingdom with Pandora, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios with Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (and especially Rise of the Resistance).

The next part up for a major change is Epcot.  Let’s take a look at some of the things that are on the way:

Regal Eagle

As amazing as The American Adventure is, its pavilion is not known for its food, until now!  This month The Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Crafts and Barbecue will replace the Liberty Inn. We should be able to smell their smoker from a good distance as it is centrally located outside, along with picnic tables and a walk-up window.  We think we see some indoor seating as well.  BBQ styles and Craft Beers from across our great States will grace the menu!

Space 220

In Future World we are going to be treated to a high tech, innovative, trip through gastronomy! Scheduled to open before Spring 220, Space 220 will welcome guests to a high-end meal that requires a bit of a trip through the light fantastic! Guests enter the restaurant through a simulated elevator in space with a screened floor that “transports” them to their dining location.  They pass a spinning garden and grow zone or greenhouse on their way to the dining room that presents excellent “views” of earth and the galaxy!

Ratatouille

We are ready for Chef Remy! How fun will this be? Guests will be shrunken down to rat size to race across Gasteau’s kitchen floor and enjoy a fun food adventure, from Chef Remy’s perspective! Planning on a summer 2020 open in EPCOT’s World Showcase’s French Pavilion, this attraction is sure to delight the fans of this fantastic Disney gem. After the ride, maybe a walk through the wonderful French pavilion for some tasty treats!

Guardians of the Galaxy

Pledging that it will be one of the world’s longest enclosed coasters, The Guardians of the Galaxy are coming to EPCOT’s Future World and is set to debut in 2021 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort! The Disney Imagineers have been working hard and this coaster will have another new and innovative ride system designed to drop our jaws yet again. Disney says they are truly going big with this one!

All of these new additions to EPCOT are designed to make the park more timeless, more family-friendly, and more Disney.  Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts says, “As we build upon its core mission of optimism and hope to inspire the world, the real will become fantastic and the fantastic will become real—in whole new ways at Epcot,”. We are so excited!

Looking forward to BBQ, Remy, and Guardians at EPCOT?
