Walt Disney World

As you enter the main and colorfully painted gate to Disney World you’ll see a lagoon, plus Disney Springs off to the left.  This retail and restaurant area is composed of Disney Marketplace, where a transportation hub is located, Disney Springs, and the Pleasure Island area.  The marketplace is just that — numerous opportunities to shop amongst the likes of a huge Disney store, a Lego store, many cafes and restaurants such as Wolfgang Puck Express, the Rainforest Café, and the new T-Rex restaurant.

If you go to the end of the marketplace, by Planet Hollywood, you’ll enter the former Pleasure Island area, where they do have excellent shops, boutiques and restaurants — such as Raglan Road and Fulton’s Crab House (which looks like a docked riverboat).   As you exit Pleasure Island, you’ll enter Disney Springs.

This is an area lined on both sides by great restaurants and cafes, a tethered hot air balloon ride attraction, the multi-story interactive video game center Disney Quest, and the unique show by Cirque Du Soleil called La Nouba at the end.  There’s also a 24-screen movie theatre here which has several 3D venues.

Besides Disney Springs, nearby are the 4 theme parks of Disney World — Epcot, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Magic Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.   These are magical theme parks where children of all ages have fun – together.  Sprinkled amidst the Disney parks are other Disney attractions such as their transportation system (including the world famous monorail – the highway in the sky), waterways,  landscaping that can take your breath away, and a natural habitat outside of the parks which can include eagles, egrets, and yes even alligators.

Universal Studios

This Universal Studios Resort is composed of Universal Studios (the first Universal theme park), Universal City Walk, and a close by and linked Islands of Adventure theme park.  The latter has the latest and one of the largest Universal attractions — The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Universal Studios has a back lot tour and many other unique experiences and adventures, such as Spiderman, plus roller coasters of all sorts.

SeaWorld & Aquatica

Aquatica is close to SeaWorld, and is also owned by it.  The SeaWorld park has numerous rides, attractions, exhibits and live animals.  A few of the rides include:

  • Journey to Atlantis (live action adventure with special effects)
  • Kraken
  • Skytower
  • Manta
  • Wild Arctic Ride
  • Happy Harbor Rides

Some of the terrific shows put on there, feature:
