Walt Disney World Dining

Trying to name the best of Walt Disney World dining is like trying to choose just one or two Disney movies that stand above the rest. It’s just not possible! The fact is that Disney equals excellence. Everything that they do is above what you would expect. For that reason, even the less expensive dining options can be quite good. Disney also offers fine dining that would make even the most particular foodie groan with the delight. The list below includes a sample of the dozens of fabulous dining choices available in the park.

Before discussing particular restaurants, read the section below to learn about a way to make keeping your dining budget on track super simple.

Disney Dining Plan

Some people forego the Disney Dining Plan because they think that their choices about where to dine will be limited, and that they will only have access to the less expensive dining options. The truth is that when you add the Disney Dining Plan to your Magic Your Way Vacation package, you can use the flexibility of the plan to eat at many locations, including the Signature restaurants and character dining experiences.

Below are the options that you will have to choose from when using your Disney Dining Plan.

• Quick Service – This includes a single entrée and juice for breakfast or a dessert for lunch and dinner
• Snacks – Snacks include ice cream, soda, fruit, and many other choices. You can redeem your snack options at many food carts throughout the resort.
• Table Service – Table service meals include the option of a full buffet or a plated meal. You can also use your table service options for the dining choices below.
o Signature Restaurants – Signature restaurants include fabulous choices such as Citrico’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, Jiko at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and The Maya Grill at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. There are almost a dozen Signature restaurants in all. These will count as two of your table dining options.
o Room Service – If you are too worn out after a day at the park to dress for dinner, you can order in. You can choose from traditional room service or have pizza delivered right to your door. Room service counts as two meal options per person. The pizza delivery counts as four adult meals.
o Character Dining – Character dining is a very special experience at Disney World. It gives your kids a chance to have some one on one time with their Disney favorites. Character dining is included in your Disney Meal Plan at the rate of two table service dinners per experience.
o Dinner Shows – You can use your Disney Dining Plan to attend dinner shows that combine great food and a fun show together, such as Disney’s Spirit of Aloha and Mickey’s Backyard BBQ. You will be charged two table service meals per dinner show.

As you can see, a Disney Dining Plan provides total flexibility. You can choose from just about any restaurant or dining option in the park.

Dining at Disney World can be an adventure.

Here are some details about just a few of the special dining experiences at the Walt Disney World Resort:

Victoria and Albert’s – Signature Dining, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa

Victoria and Albert’s restaurant will bring out your inner foodie. Year after year, Victoria and Albert’s is awarded the AAA Five Diamond Award, which is given only to the best of the best. Enjoy a long and leisurely dinner as you are served a magnificent six course meal. This is truly one of the most fabulous dining experiences in Disney World – and arguably one of the finest restaurants in the world.

The Maya Grill – Signature Dining, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

You can enjoy a breakfast buffet or a sit-down dinner at this moderately priced restaurant. Seafood, beef and vegetarian options are served, all with a Latin flair. Of course, at The Maya Grill you will want to try and save room for a yummy dessert, such as a churro with coconut ice cream.

Disney’s Spirit of Aloha – Dinner Show

The Spirit of Aloha is one of the most popular dinner shows in the resort. You will see hula dancers and fire dancers perform as you enjoy an all-you-can-eat luau. As you enjoy your Polynesian cuisine, you will learn a bit about South Pacific culture and history. Beer and wine are included.

Chef Mickey’s – Character Dining

This is just one of a dozen character dining experiences that you can choose. Chef Mickey’s serves a breakfast and a dinner buffet. The food is abundant and delicious, but the best part of the meal is the chance to visit with Mickey and many of his friends who stop by to say hello.

50’s Prime Time Café – Casual Dining, Hollywood Studios

When you visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can watch 1950’s sitcoms right at your table while you enjoy milkshakes, burgers, pot roast and many other selections. The food is delicious, but the décor is memorable as well. You will have fun looking at every detail. The waitress is also part of the fun. In the 1950’s manners were important, so don’t be surprised if she reminds you to sit up straight or to chew with your mouth closed. Don’t be offended! It’s all part of this very special dining experience at the 50’s Prime Time Cafe.

Plan Ahead For Your Meals – You’ll Be Glad You Did

When you start planning your first Disney World vacation, you might think of the dining options as an afterthought. Once you have experienced Disney World dining, however, you will understand that it is just as important as the rides, the characters, and shows.

Many Disney dining options, such as Signature restaurants, Disney character dining and dinner shows, require reservations. These venues can fill up, especially during the busiest times of year, so you should plan ahead if there is a restaurant or show that you especially want to visit.

Keep in mind that the details of the Disney Dining Plan change from time to time. Be sure to check the exchange rate for special experiences at the time that you book your Magic Your Way Vacation, so that there will be no surprises.

What won’t be a surprise is how wonderful the food at every Disney restaurant will be. As with the rest of your Disney experience, it is not a just a meal, its Disney magic!
