With over 100 restaurants in Walt Disney World, it seems that food experiences may be taking over the attractions in what we look forward to most for our Disney vacations. Since the most popular restaurants book up 180 days in advance and FastPass+ reservations can only be made 60 days in advance for Disney Resort guests (30 days in advance for others), Disney seems to agree that the restaurants are pretty popular.

Disney has some of the greatest food in the world, and the variety is incomparable. The experiences themselves are one of a kind too. Here is an unofficial list of the most unique dining experiences in Walt Disney World that you won’t want to miss.

6. Sanaa

Located in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village, this is the only restaurant at Animal Kingdom Lodge that overlooks the savanna and the animals. It doesn’t get much more unique that than!

Sanaa is Swahili for artwork, which is an appropriate name since the dining room is filled with art. Even the chair backs are reminiscent of tribal shields, and the lighting fixtures are based on nests African weaver birds would make. Acacia trees fill the room; all of these details make this one of the most beautiful restaurants in Orlando.

When it comes to the food, the bread service alone is worth the Advanced Dining Reservation. There are five kinds of breads and nine accompanying dips ranging from sweet to spicy. If you don’t want to or don’t have time to make an advanced dining reservation, try visiting the bar and lounge.

5. Sci-fi Dine In Theater

Sci-Fi Dine in is located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and immerses you into a 50’s drive in setting. Take a seat in the faux classic American car, and order appetizers and milkshakes while you watch classic B-movie clips on the big screen. The food at Sci-Fi Dine In isn’t necessarily winning any awards; it’s pretty typical food with interesting names, and it’s just a tad pricey. Remember, you’ll be visiting this restaurant for the unique experience- not the food per se.

4. California Grill

Rule #1 of real estate is location, location, location, and this restaurant has the ideal location. Located on top of Disney’s Contemporary Resort and across the street from Magic Kingdom, the floor-to-ceiling windows make this the perfect fireworks-viewing or sunset-watching spot. Wishes can be clearly seen from the tables or from the overlook deck, and the lights dim and music is piped in to the restaurant so you won’t miss a single detail of Wishes. If you can’t get reservations during Wishes, just use your dining receipt to gain reentry just before Wishes begins.

California Grill has a higher-class feel compared to other table-service restaurants at Disney, but the food is sometimes hit or miss. With everything from sushi to bison, the hits are strong, and you’re sure to find something you’ll enjoy.

3. Be Our Guest

Be Our Guest opened in 2012 in Magic Kingdom, it became an attraction unto itself.

Be Our Guest has some beautiful decor.

There are many iconic touches in this beautiful restaurant including the cursed rose in the West Wing, snow outside the windows, and “The Grey Stuff.” During dinner, you can also have your picture taken with the host himself, Beast.

Many new restaurants will be very busy at opening but will slow down after a while, but that did not occur at Be Our Guest and Disney even added breakfast to the menu. Therefore, dining at Be Our Guest will definitely require Advanced Dining Reservations.

2. Cinderella’s Royal Table

Location comes into play in this restaurant too, which is located in Cinderella Castle right in the middle of Magic Kingdom.

Everything about this experience is memorable including the walk up the stairs to the dining room. Guests will meet princesses and see fun details throughout the castle.

Although Cinderella’s Royal Table is a little pricey, the lifetime of memories you and your family will make will be worth the cost.

1. Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue

There is so much to see and do at Fort Wilderness, and Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue should definitely be on your list. It is fun and entertaining for the whole family. Even the dishes you eat off of, which are old-time metal, and the mason jar drinking glasses, add to the feeling of being transported back in time to the prairie.

It doesn't get much better than an all-you-can-eat (and drink) dinner and a great show!

What’s more, guests will experience an all-you-can-eat meal complete with fried chicken and delicious ribs. For the adults, beer and sangria are also unlimited! Top the meal off with strawberry shortcake.  Combined with the wonderful stage show, you won’t be disappointed.
