New Quick Service Barbeque Location Opens in Disney Springs West Side

The House Of Blues, the combo concert-and-restaurant location in Disney Springs, recently opened a new quick service barbeque restaurant in front of their main facility which sits directly across from Disney Quest.

All the previous pieces of the House Of Blues are still there – the easily-overlooked Crossroads table service restaurant, the bar, the requisite gift shop, and the ticket box office and performing areas.

The new barbeque restaurant, understandably called “The Smokehouse”, is up front and center.

The Building

The new building takes its architectural queues from the rest of the House Of Blues’ facilities and features a huge “Barbeque” sign and a rustic (even rusty) tin siding exterior.

After you grab your food you can head over to the outdoor courtyard seating area. It’s covered with some fun light hanging overhead. The seating area is within ear-shot of the outdoor stage that features live music (performance times vary).

The Food

The menu at The Smokehouse is pretty basic, but it covers all the usual suspects: pulled pork, brisket, and ribs. The Smokehouse also offers a few other options including a hot dog, pulled chicken, and a smoked turkey leg.

The side dishes cover the usual suspects too: baked beans, cole slaw, and potato ships.

The beans were good, but at $1.99 for a stand-alone side order, they aren't a good value.

You can also find a few deserts including brownies and cookies.

I’ll admit that I am both a barbeque fan and a barbeque snob. If the meat isn’t tender, I’m not a happy camper. Fortunately, The Smokehouse delivers the goods. I tried both the pulled pork and the turkey leg, and both were very tender, flavorful, and overall delicious.

As of right now, The Smokehouse is not on the Disney Dining Plan, although that could always change in the future.  It seems like Disney makes all changes to restaurants on the Dining Plan at one time, once a year.  Stay tuned!

Are you glad there is a new barbeque restaurant in Disney Springs?
