Orange County, Florida – Home To Disney World – May Lift Mask Mandate In Late Summer

During a press briefing on COVID-19 today that was broadcast on YouTube, Orange County, Florida Mayor Jerry Demings said that he expects the country to relax or lift the country’s mask mandate late in the summer.

Demmings said that the country may lift physical distancing requirements and temperature checks even sooner.

Most Walt Disney World property is located in Orange Country, Florida, and is subject to county regulations.

That said, businesses like Disney World can make more restrictive rules than the county and could keep temperature checks, physical distancing, and mask mandates in place longer.  However, Disney and other businesses can’t lift these requirements until the country does.

Back in February, Disney CEO Bob Chapek said that he did not expect to keep all the current health and safety protocols in place for the full year of 2021.
