One Construction Project at Disney World Continues

With the parks closed and shelter in place orders across Florida, it was thought that all construction projects at Walt Disney World had stopped.  That mostly seems to be the case.

However, it appears there is at least one exception – an active construction project at Disney World.

Sources report that there is active construction happening at Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge.  This is the new Disney Vacation Club property that Disney is building on the site of the old River Country, near Fort Wilderness.

Disney’s contractor on the project, Balfour Beatty Construction LLC, is working on the resort which will feature 900 rooms.

The construction company made a statement on how they are creating a safe environment for their workers while still making progress on the project.  They indicated that their business is classified as an essential business, and that they have changed the way they operate. They have implementing social distancing and are working with smaller crews.

Given that talk in the media has started to shift to when and how businesses will be able to restart, it seems that Balfour Beatty Construction may be ahead of the curve in making plans for operations in a new normal.

Glad to see some construction continues at Disney World?
