Disney World is a Magical place all year, but the holidays are a wonderful time to visit the happiest place on earth. Many people think about Christmastime, but New Years Eve is one of the most popular times to visit. This also means that the parks are the busiest this time of year, and specifically this day of the year, and they usually reach capacity early in the day.
Fortunately, there’s a way for you to enjoy the amazing Fantasy in the Sky fireworks without even entering Magic Kingdom!
Disney’s Contemporary Resort is just across the street from Magic Kingdom and offers some of the best views of the fireworks outside the parks.
This year, the Contemporary Resort is hosting three New Year’s Eve parties! Let’s check them out.
1. Pixar Party: A New Year’s Eve Celebration
The Pixar Party: A New Year’s Eve Celebration is a family friendly event for children of all ages. Step inside the world of Pixar with life-sized sets inspired by some of the most popular Pixar films, fun props, and an interactive DJ set in a Cars inspired rig that looks like Radiator Springs. There will also be face painting, a balloon artist, and a boot camp hosted by Sarge! He’s not the only character you’ll meet though. Meet your favorite characters from Toy Story, The Incredibles, and even Up.
This party takes place in the Ballroom of the Americas from 8pm to 12:15am and costs $175 per person. This includes everything listed above plus a buffet dinner inspired by Disney*Pixar movies.
2. Disney Countdown to Midnight
The Disney Countdown to Midnight is a more traditional New Year’s Eve party with dancing, dining, and a champagne toast at midnight. There will be an interactive DJ, and Mickey and Minnie will even make an appearance!
This party, which is held in the Contemporary’s Fantasia Ballroom, is an 18 and over party. It starts at 8pm and ends at 1am. The cost is $250 per person.
3. Down in New Orleans: A Disney New Year’s Eve Dining Experience
The third New Year’s Eve Party being held at the Contemporary is Down In New Orleans: A Disney New Year’s Eve Dining Experience, which has a Princess and the Frog theme.
This fancy, fine-dining party will be held in the Grand Republic Ballroom and will have French Quarter style décor and food including oyster beignets, smoked salmon mousse cones with caviar, herb crusted Louisiana redfish, Black angus beef, filet of beef, Kobe beef tartare, sheep’s milk ricotta gnocchi, crayfish etouffee, and braised short ribs. Now I’m hungry!
Step into the Big Easy with a Jazz band and a vocalist who will perform music from the movie. You’ll also enjoy a toast at midnight.
The party starts at 7pm and goes until 12:15am and costs an eye-popping $450 per person.
