The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival will return in 2018 for the 23rd year. The festival opens on August 30th and runs until November 12. Many of your favorites will return this year, but there are also some new offerings.
Let’s take a look at what’s going on at the 2018 Food & Wine Festival!
The Global Food Marketplaces are mainstays for all of Epcot’s Festivals and especially for Food & Wine. The marketplaces will definitely be back this year, and this will be the fourth year that the marketplaces will stretch from World Showcase into Future World.
Ratatouille Hide ‘n’ Squeak Scavenger Hunt, Mix it, Make it, Celebrate it! (hands-on workshops Wednesdays and Thursdays), Back to Basics (tips and tricks from the pros), book and bottle signings, The Chocolate Experience with Ghirardelli samples, culinary demonstrations, beverage seminars, cheese seminars, and Eat to the Beat Dining Packages will all return this year as well.
Speaking of Eat to the Beat, there will be 225 concerts this year with headliners from across the genres including 98 Degrees, MercyMe, Vertical Horizon, Jim Belushi & the Sacred Hearts, and Smash Mouth.
Party for the Senses will return to the World ShowPlace on September 22, October 6, 13, and 20, and November 10. This is an awesome experience, and I’m so glad it’s returning this year.
There are also tons of new offerings this year!
Let’s start with the Global Food Marketplaces. There will be a new Taste Track marketplace near Test Track serving up specialty croissant doughnuts and gelato. The Wine and Dine Studio will have Butternut Squash Ravioli with brown butter vinaigrette, Parmasan cheese, and pumpkin seeds. Flavors from Fire will serve Chared Chimichurri Skirt Steak with smoked corn cake, pickled vegetable slaw, and cilantro aioli, and Hops and Barley will offer a New Brunswick Slider, which is slow braised beef brisket on a potato roll with horseradish cream, crispy fried onions, and pickled vegetables.
Next, there will be a food and beverage pairing in the Festival Center Fridays through Sundays with a featured chef and beverage presenter. You’ll even get to sample the dish they make! This event costs just $25, and park admission is required.
Disney will launch a Sunday Brunch with the Chef series this year at World Showplace on select Sundays from September 2 through November 11. This two-hour event starts with a sparkling wine toast and continues with a breakfast buffet while you listen to a celebrity chef share tips and tricks. You’ll even have an opportunity to meet and greet the chef and get a photo! This experience is $129 per guest (park admission required), and while everyone is welcome, no one under age 21 will be served alcohol.
Kids will love the new Character Dance party, the playground, and the Junior Chef Kitchen, which will allow kids to make and eat a dish for free every Sunday.
