MyDisneyExperience is the Disney app that provides essential information for Disney World guests. It provides lots of helpful tools like attraction wait times, restaurant menus, and restroom locations among other things.

Just this month, Disney has released an update for the MyDisneyExperience app with even more useful tools that guests have been requesting for a long time.

Let’s take a look at four important MyDisneyExperience app updates.

1. Track Purchases

If you use your MagicBand to pay for souvenirs and dining while you’re on vacation, you know that it’s a really convenient way to pay. You can literally leave your credit cards, cash, and ID in your hotel room and use only your MagicBand, which is protected with a four digit pin code like a debit card.

Now you can track your purchases right from the MyDisneyExperience App!

However, since it is so easy, it can be easy to rack up a big bill and be surprised at the end of your vacation by how much you actually owe!

Now, you can see your charges right from your phone in the MDE app. It will show you your total charges, total payments, and how much you still owe. This is a welcome update since it can be used by any Disney World Guest who has a MagicBand.

2. Track DDP

The Disney Dining Plan is only available for those staying at one of the Disney resort hotels who have a Magic Your Way vacation package. This excludes some people, but there are still lots of people who use the DDP.

You can also track your DDP credits.

Now, DDP users can track their credits via the app. It will show you how many credits you have total, how many you’ve used, and how many you have left.

Previously, you had to check the bottom of your dining receipts to see how many credits remained, but not anymore! Many people are very excited about this update!

3. Mobile Renewal

Mobile renewal is another welcomed update to the MDE. It is only available for those who have an Annual Pass, though.

If you do have a pass, you can renew your pass right from your phone now! If you are the family manager, you can also renew your family members’ passes from your account. It’s also possible to select individual member’s passes to renew in case different family members have different renewal dates.

It’s not just renewal though. You can now update your pass or make changes to the kind of pass you have.

4. More Mobile Ordering

The final update to the MDE App isn’t really new, but enhanced.

Satuli Canteen was the first Disney World Restaurant to offer mobile ordering.

Disney introduced mobile ordering back in July when Pandora – The Land of Avatar opened in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The first restaurant to use mobile ordering was Satu’li Canteen in this land, but it’s now expanded to 15 Disney World restaurants.

Here’s the List by location:

Magic Kingdom

Epcot

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

  • ABC Commissary (Commissary Lane)
  • Backlot Express (Echo Lake)
  • PizzeRizzo (Muppet Courtyard)

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

  • Flame Tree BBQ (Discovery Island)
  • Pizzafari (Discovery Island)
  • Restaurantosaurus (Dinoland USA)
  • Satu’li Canteen (Pandora)

Disney Springs

  • D-Luxe Burger

If you’d like to eat at any of these quick-service restaurants, grab your phone and place a mobile order. You’ll pay online with a credit card and pick up your food at designated windows in the restaurant.

Disney is working on adding more payment options (like the DDP), and you can expect that soon. Hopefully it’s available in the next update!
