There is probably no tighter bond than the one shared between a mother and daughter. Regardless of her age, your daughter will always be your little princess. Whether you’re planning a trip with your young princess or she’s grown up and has her own castle and princes and princesses, these experiences are sure to delight and create lasting memories!

1. Park Day

It may sound basic, but a day spent at Disney World is anything but. As a mother and daughter team, choose attractions that you might not choose if you were with the whole family. Maybe you’ll visit Anna and Elsa in Norway or ride Prince Charming’s Regal Carousel in Fantasyland. If you’re more on the adventurous side, check out Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster Starring Aerosmith or The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Build up the hype by creating matching Tshirts ahead of time or visit Design a T in Disney Springs. You can even buy matching souvenirs once you’re there. Young princesses might enjoy a water globe or a plush while older princesses might opt for a Disney-themed Dooney & Burke bag! Whatever you do, do it just for the two of you!

2. Photo ops

What better way to make lasting memories than by taking photos around Disney World? PhotoPass Photographers are stationed all over Disney property, and they’re happy to take as many photos as you want. They’re always at the character meet and greets and you’ll also see them in front of park icons like Epcot‘s Spaceship Earth, Magic Kingdom‘s Cinderella Castle, Animal Kingdom’s Tree of Life, and Hollywood Studios’ Chinese Theater.

Be sure to get the MemoryMaker before you arrive so you can get all of your photos from the parks. When you get home, print your photos and put them in a photo album or scrapbook. It’s a great way to spend more time together and you’ll create something you’ll cherish for many years to come!

3. Carriage Rides

“Isn’t this just for romantic couples?” you may be asking. No! Carriage rides are fun for anyone! Mothers and daughters will enjoy the sights on this 25-minute trot around Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort or Disney’s Port Orleans Resort. And you’ll feel like royalty being chauffeured around!

4. Silhouettes & Caricatures

Silhouettes and caricatures are a fun way to create a lasting picture of your daughter with the both of you together! You can capture her age and features, which will change quickly especially if she’s very young. Caricatures are fun because they create a cartoonish version of you and your daughter. We’ve even made it a tradition to get one every time we visit Disney. It’s fun to line them up and see how we’ve changed!

Silhouettes take as little as a minute to draw and cut, but caricatures will take a bit longer- about 20 to 30 minutes per person.

5. Cirque du Soleil

The Cirque du Soleil show in Disney Springs has been running for several years now, and it’s completely unique to Disney. You won’t see this show anywhere else in the world! La Nouba, as the show is called, is about an hour and a half long, and you’ll see feats of acrobatics that you won’t even believe! If your princess is very young, be sure that she can sit for this long. This is definitely a good experience for teen or adult princesses and their moms especially if you like live shows.

6. Tea Time

What better way to feel like a queen than to celebrate tea time? Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa offers this opportunity almost every day depending on the age of your princess.

On Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:30 AM to Noon, princesses aged three to eleven can dress up in their favorite princess dress and enjoy morning tea during My Disney Girl’s Perfectly Princess Tea Party. You’ll even get to meet some of your favorite Disney princesses like Aurora and receive a keepsake to take home.

For older princesses, afternoon tea is served between 2 and 5 PM daily. This elegant experience offers Victorian finger foods like sandwiches and pastries, and you’ll be sipping your tea from a porcelain teacup. The Grand holds nothing back in this sophisticated experience!

7. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Disney Springs and Magic Kingdom‘s Cinderella Castle gives girls aged three to 12 the chance to become a princess for a day. The beauty salon offers several different packages including everything from hair and makeup to a full princess makeover complete with a princess gown. Reservations are highly recommended because this is a popular spot for little girls. What better joy could a mom have then to see her daughter all dolled up?

8. Spa Day

Disney World Resort has several spas at their Deluxe resorts including Saratoga Springs’ Senses Spa, The Grand Floridian Spa, and the Swan and Dolphin’s Mandara Spa to name a few.

Treat yourselves to a mani, pedi or indulge with a facial and a massage. Disney’s spas are world-class and will offer you only the best services and amenities! Some of my greatest memories with my mom were made at the spa!

9. Character Dining

Disney’s character dining is a totally unique experience during which you can mingle with your favorite characters while enjoying a wonderful Disney meal. Since seating is limited, you’ll get to spend more quality time with the characters than you would at a regular meet and greet, and you can even choose which theme you want.

If Disney Princesses are your thing, try out Cinderella’s Royal Table in Magic Kingdom, Akershus Banquet Hall in Norway, or 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. Other options range from a South Pacific theme at Disney’s Polynesian Resort to Winnie the Pooh and friends at Magic Kingdom’s Crystal Palace and a safari theme with Donald and friends at Disney’s Animal Kingdom‘s Tusker House. Whoever your favorite characters happen to be, it’s likely that you can find them at a character dining experience.

10. Pick a Pearl

There are several places on Disney Property that you can pick a pearl and have it set in a beautiful piece of jewelry. Disney Springs, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and Blizzard Beach Water Park are a few, but my favorite place is in World Showcase’s Japan pavilion. This is by far the best experience you’ll find. There’s always a big fanfare including beating drums and a theatrical Cast Member building the excitement and even counting in Japanese.

Regardless of your location, you’ll choose an oyster which will then be revealed right in front of you. The pearl inside will vary in size, color, and even number. That’s right! You might find an oyster with two pearls inside!

After you choose your pearl, they’ll clean it and weigh it, then you’ll have the option to have it set in a piece of jewelry or to simply take it home in a small plastic bag.

There are so many things you can do with this affordable experience. If your daughter is young and you travel to Disney regularly, consider allowing her to pick a pearl during every visit and save them for something special someday. You could also have earrings, a necklace, or a ring made and save it for her wedding day. If you both pick a pearl, you can have matching jewelry made to commemorate your special day together. I have one of these pearls, which my husband got for me on our honeymoon, and it’s one of my most cherished pieces of jewelry!
