Less than a year ago, Disney World launched Mobile Ordering at a brand new eatery in a brand new land. Satu’li Canteen in Pandora – the World of Avatar, Disney’s Animal Kingdom‘s largest expansion ever, not only provided innovative meals but also a new and unique way to order.
Since then, 23 quick-service dining locations have added the Mobile Ordering technology – including the very popular Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom and D-Luxe Burger, an upscale burger joint owned and operated by Disney in Disney Springs.
Mobile Ordering, which allows guests to order meals and snacks from their smart phones via the MyDisneyExperience app, has earned rave reviews from guests. They love that they can order, pay ahead, and skip the line at the counter-service restaurants which means more time enjoying the attractions they love and less time standing in line!
Until recently, though, a large swath of guests were excluded from the ability to order their food and drinks through this service. Why? Disney’s Mobile Ordering didn’t support Disney Dining Plans (DDP).
On January 31st, Disney released an app update that will now make it possible for DDP subscribers to see their available credits, choose qualifying items, customize their meal, and skip the lines as well.
All three plans, the Quick-Service Dining Plan, the Disney Dining Plan, and the Deluxe Dining Plan, are eligible, but Disney recommends that you still advise a cashier if you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions.
The update also improves the online check-in process on the MyDisneyExperience app as well as the Wayfinding function. Guests can also now see room charges for Disney resort hotels.
