Star Wars: GalaxyÕs Edge will open May 31, 2019, at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, and August 29, 2019, at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. At 14 acres each, Star Wars: GalaxyÕs Edge will be Disney's largest single-themed land expansions ever, transporting guests to live their own Star Wars adventures in Black Spire Outpost, a village on the remote planet of Batuu, full of unique sights, sounds, smells and tastes. Guests can become part of the story as they sample galactic food and beverages, explore an intriguing collection of merchant shops and take the controls of the most famous ship in the galaxy aboard Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Join Me For The Opening Of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Ever since Disney announced the (then unnamed) Star Wars Land in August 2015 and broke ground eight months later in both Disneyland and Disney World, suspense, excitement, and speculation have all been high.
Rumors flew regarding what Disney was doing with this new land, which would be identical on both coasts. Walt Disney Imagineering has worked hard on this land, which we now know will be called Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. It will be an entirely new form of immersive entertainment like nobody has ever experienced before.
Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge officially opens to the public on May 31, but today and tomorrow I’m going to be there live to bring you all the latest information as part of the media preview event!
Please join me later tonight for a Facebook Live broadcast of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Dedication Ceremony! If you’re joining me on the East Coast, you’ll have to stay up. The ceremony will take place at 8:20 pm PDT and 11:20 pm EST.
Over the next few days I’ll also be posting lots of exciting articles, pictures, and videos in these locations:
