We all know that people of all ages have great fun at Walt Disney World. But adults still act like, well, adults. If they could only see the magic of Disney and experience it as a child does, they might just have the time of their life.
Here are some tips on how to truly enjoy your Disney World vacation just like a kid does.
1 – Allow Yourself To Deviate From The Plan
Everywhere you look on the Internet, including this web site, you see information that urges you to plan ahead. You need to make Advanced Dining Reservations to get a seat for dinner. You need to get to the Parks early to beat the lines. You need to use FastPass to avoid waiting in line. You need to check the Times Guide to be sure that you can meet your favorite character.
All this is true.
But, it is also important to do some things on the spur of the moment. Enjoying the fun times as they come up. Do you see some live entertainment that looks interesting? Take a few minutes to stop and enjoy it. Stopping to watch the Main Street Trolley Show for a few minutes is great fun! Do you have an urge for an ice cream sundae at 10:00 in the morning? Go ahead, splurge – you are on vacation.
2 – Allow The Kids In Your Group To Make Some Decisions
In the real world, kids don’t often get to make many decisions on what happens next. Their life, just like ours, is dictated by schedules and rules. But at Disney World, you can allow your kid to run the show – just a little bit.
Allow them to navigate to the next fun experience that they want to enjoy. Whether it means riding Dumbo four times in a row or walking all the way across the park because they just have to see the Haunted Mansion right now, allow a kid in your life to make some other calls –at least for a little while. They will enjoy experience, and you might enjoy the freedom that provides.
3 – Allow Yourself To Get Wet
As long as it is not too cold outside, make an opportunity to get wet. As adults, we often avoid getting wet. The run from the car to the store, we carry an umbrella with us, and we make sure that we stay dry – and in control.
But kids know how to enjoy getting wet. They splash in puddles and play with garden hoses. Join them in that fun. Take in a water rides like Splash Mountain or stomp around in a water garden with spraying fountains. Not only will you have a great time, but you will enjoy a perfectly fine way to cool off when the weather is hot.
Music is one of the things that makes Disney World come alive. Whether it is a parade or a dance party or something in between, there are opportunities galore to stop and dance. This is something that we adults often feel self conscious about. We think we will look too silly. And those concerns are probably well founded. You might look a little odd when you dance, but who cares? Take time to follow along with a fun and shake your groove thing. It will bring a smile to your face and to the faces of those around you. You’ll have a great time!
Participate In Making The Fun
Even if you act like a plain old adult, responsible and in control, you are sure to have a good time at Disney world. But, if you decide to loosen up a little bit and enjoy the magic of Disney just as child does, you may well just have the time of your life.
