Many characters like Mickey, Minnie, Anna & Elsa, and Belle are easy to find, but some characters are more difficult to find.
Finding these characters and possibly getting their autograph and a picture with them can make a vacation while missing your favorite characters can break a vacation.
While there are never guarantees for finding characters, and schedules and appearances do change over time, here are some tips on hard-to-find characters and where they are usually located.
Beast, from Beauty and the Beast
Genie and Abu, from Aladdin
Although Jasmine and Aladdin can be found daily in Morocco, their friends Genie and Abu are only available during hard-ticket events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
Bert with Mary Poppins and Mr. Penguin
Like Belle and Beast, one would hope to see them together, but this is not usually the case. Bert can only be found with Mary Poppins and Mr. Penguin during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, while Mary Poppins can be found alone in the Magic Kingdom or the United Kingdom pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase.
Jack Skellington, from Nightmare Before Christmas
Unlike Disneyland, Disney World does not do an overlay on the Haunted Mansion, but Jack Skellington can still be seen during the fall at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
Jane Porter, Tarzan, and Terk, from Tarzan
This trio can be found on the verandah from the Castle Hub to Adventureland during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. I have also seen Tarzan in the building of the Affection Section at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Jessie, from Toy Story 2 and 3
Jessie and Woody are almost always stationed outside of Splash Mountain even when the ride is closed.
Mike Wazowski and Sulley, from Monsters, Inc.
This dynamic duo is available for meet and greets on the Streets of America in Hollywood Studios – at least for now.
Pocahontas can sometimes be found at Discovery Island in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but her appearances are so sporadic and random that you can’t count on her showing up at a certain time.
If you have your heart set on meeting a certain character, check in at Guest Services at the entrance to the park. The Cast Members there can tell you what characters are scheduled to appear that day and when.
