Star Wars is a pop culture phenomenon, and the ships in the movies have become so iconic that many of them are instantly recognizable even for those who aren’t fans of the movies. In fact, the ships are almost like characters themselves!
When Disney’s Imagineers were creating Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, they knew it would be important to include as many ships in this land as possible. They achieved this goal, and all of the ships are built at full-scale making the land even more immersive and engaging.
The A-Wing Starfighter is sleek and fast with a streamlined cockpit and massive twin engines. It was first used by the Rebel Alliance and is now used for quick strikes necessary for the resistance. In Galaxy’s Edge on both coasts, you can find an A-Wing Starfighter at the Resistance mobile command post.
First Order TIE Echelon
The TIE Echelon, named for the Twin Ion Engines, is an assault vehicle for the First Order used for small troop and cargo transport. The ship is docked at Docking Bay 9 First Order Encampment
There are two landspeeders in Black Spire Station on Batuu, and both are in for repairs. One is similar to the X-34 like the one piloted by Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. The other is a Jakku Speeder built from scavenged parts.
The Millennium Falcon, a YT-1300 Corellian freighter, is probably the most recognizable ship of the Star Wars movies. It was first flown by Han Solo and Chewbacca as a smuggler for the Rebel Alliance. The Millennium Falcon is often referred to as “the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy”, and you have a chance to fly it while visiting Batuu. During your flight, you will help Hondo Ohnaka, a smuggler himself, who is borrowing the ship for his own purposes. However, if you can help him, he will provide the parts necessary to fix the broken ship. The Millennium Falcon is stationed at the Spaceport in Galaxy’s Edge.
Sienar-Chall Utilipede Transport
You can see a Sienar-Chall Utilipede Transport ship at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. It is located above a hangar-turned-restaurant and functions as a kind of interplanetary food truck. Chef Strono “Cookie” Tuggs presides and offers this “traveling diner for diners traveling”.
The X-Wing Starfighter is a nimble and versatile ship offering both speed and firepower. It was first used in dogfights by the Rebel Alliance and is now part of the Resistance fleet. It can be found at the Resistance Mobile Command Post.
