From July 5 to September 1, 2014, the characters from Disney’s runaway hit “Frozen” are making a big splash at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The movie has raked in more than $1.2 billion for the Walt Disney Company and has spawned rumors of a new attraction in the Norway pavilion of Epcot. There is still no official word about that change.
However, the arrival of everything “Frozen” at the Studios is very real.
Let’s take a look:
Olaf on Summer Vacation
Disney is giving away a free “Take-Along Olaf” the snowman to everyone who enters the park. You can think of it as a paper cut out of Olaf mounted on a stick. It sounds very simple, and it is, but it does make for a great prop when taking photos.
Disney is encouraging people to share their photos with Olaf on social media using the tag #OlafSummerVacation.
Disney hinted that they may select someone who posts a photo on social media to somehow join in day’s grand finale.
Anna and Elsa’s Royal Welcome
Time: 11:00 am
Location: Hollywood Blvd.
Details: Each day Anna and Elsa will arrive in grand style at the Studios in a horse-drawn sleigh. Kristoff will be with them also. (I assume that since Hans was the bad guy in the movie, he doesn’t get to participate in the parade). Skaters, skies, and ice cutters will join the sisters as they make their way toward the Sorcerer’s Hat to welcome everyone for the day.
For the First Time in Forever: A “Frozen” Sing-Along Celebration
Times: 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, 3:30, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00pm
Location: Premiere Theater, which is located in the Streets of America and is typically used just for special events like Star Wars Weekends and the Comedy Warehouse Christmas Special, is the site for the sing-along.
Details: Anna and Elsa retell the story of their kingdom of Arendelle and ask everyone to sing-along during moments from the movie.

Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post & “Frozen” Funland
Times: Park opening – 8:00pm
Location: Soundstage One, which is located on Mickey Avenue near the entrance to the Studio Backlot Tour.
Details: Photo opportunities, ice stating demonstrations, and fun for kids in an area called “Do You Want to Build a Snowman”. This area also offered “Frozen” merchandise, food, and beverage offerings.

“Coolest Summer Ever” Dance Party
Times: 5:30 – 9:00 pm from July 5 – August 16
Location: Sorcerer’s Hat Stage
Details: The dance party includes tunes by a DJ as well as a live band that plays classic summer hits as well as songs from the “Frozen” movie.
“Frozen” Fireworks Spectacular
Times: 9:45 pm from July 5 – August 16; 9:15 pm from August 17 – September 1; none on August 23 due to the Villains Unleashed hard-ticketed event
Location: In the sky above the Sorcerer’s Hat
Details: Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf all come together for the day’s finale that includes fireworks set to the music from the movie.
