For some time the differences between the International Food and Wine Festival and the Flower and Garden Festival and been dissolving.
A while back Disney added HGTV sessions to the Food & Wine Festival recently – making it more like the Flower & Garden Festival.
Now, Disney is adding the “Garden Marketplace” to the Flower & Garden Festival – making it more like the Food & Wine Festival.
About The Garden Marketplace
The Garden Marketplace will offer food and wine at locations around the World Showcase promenade. Sound familiar? There will be 11 different stations, with themes like smokehouse barbecue, Florida fresh, Italian food, and Japanese food.
From the “sure to be a big hit” department: An old time favorite from Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom – the pineapple goodness which is the Dole Whip – will take on an adult flavor with the addition of Spiced Rum.
Non-alcoholic drinks will include rose blush lemonade and strawberry slush.
The main entrance topiaries will feature the Fab Five (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald) plus Daisy. And Mike and Sully from Monsters, Inc. will also appear in green form.
In an interesting twist, Disney will add new lighting effects to the gardens and topiaries to make them more visible and interesting at night.
And Music
The Flower Power Concert Series returns, with Chubby Checker, The Guess Who, former members of ELO, Starship, and two new acts: Tommy Roe and The Village People (ready for some YMCA?).
