Disney has announced that the popular “Festival of the Lion King” show will return this summer to the Africa section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Disney will modify the show both on-stage and backstage to allow for physical distancing. They will also change the audience seating and the show’s choreography.
In the past, the “Festival of the Lion King” has included singers, dancers, stilt walkers, acrobats, animated floats. It features a number of songs from Disney’s 1994 animated hit film “The Lion King.” Past performances have included the songs “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” and the finale “Circle of Life.”
Fifth Show To Return
The Lion King will be the fifth show to return which includes Actor’s Equity performers. The four other shows that have returned are:
Savi’s Workshop lightsaber-building experience in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Frozen Sing-Along Celebration at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Dapper Dans barbershop quartet at Magic Kingdom
Voices of Liberty at EPCOT.
