Returning for the 18th year, the 2013 Epcot Food And Wine Festival is open all around Epcot.
While there are special events available that cost extra, you can still enjoy all of the food kiosks around World Showcase as part of your basic Disney admission ticket.
This year, the Festival runs for a record 46 days starting on September 27, and ending on November 11, 2013.
The numbers behind the event are amazing. Disney Chefs and Cast Members will dole out 100,000 desserts, 300,000 servings of wine, and 360,000 servings of beer!

International Food Kiosks
One of the biggest draws in the festival are the food kiosks set up around World Showcase.
Last year, Brazil took the year off; but, this year, it returns with an all-new menu that includes Crisp Pork Belly served with black beans, onions, avocado, and cilantro for $5.25 – and Seared Scallops served with ragout of tomatoes, peppers, and hearts of palm for $4.25.
New for 2013 are offerings from Scotland, including beer and Scotch (of course). They are also serving up a wicket cocktail called the “Rusty Nail,” which is a whiskey martini made from Scotch and Drambuie.
Plenty of other favorites are back. Let’s take a look:
The old Wonders Of Life pavilion, located in Future World between the Universe Of Energy and Mission: Space, temporarily comes back to life (pun intended) as the Festival Welcome Center. In the Welcome Center, you can visit an information desk to get answers to all your questions, and also purchase merchandise like shirts, aprons, kitchenware, art, and pins.
You can also purchase many of the wines that Disney is serving throughout the festival at the Wine Shop.
The Festival Center is also home to many popular seminars and demonstrations, including:
Wine, Spirits, and Beverage seminars: Get information and try a sip or two from all over the world: Weingut Selbach-Oster from Mosel, Germany, La Crema Winery from Monterey, California, and Trivento from Mendoza, Chile to name just a few. There are dozens of other seminars too.
Culinary demonstrations: Kevin Dundon from Raglan Road in Disney Springs will prepare trout, Carla Hall from ABC’s show The CHEW will prepare pastry, and Jason Stefanko from Richmond, Canada will prepare a Vegan dish. There are dozens of other demonstrations too.
Mixology seminars: Learn now to make a Russian Standard or drinks that contain Icelandic Vodka, Italian Blood Orange Liqueur, or Tanteo Jalapeno infused Tequila. Again, Disney is offering dozens of seminars. Good thing that it is 5:00 somewhere!
Chase Cardmember Lounge Returns
If you have a Disney Rewards Visa Card by Chase, you can access a special cardmember lounge located on the third floor of The American Adventure pavilion. Last year, the lounge was located in a tiny room in the back of the Festival Center, and it was very crowded. The new location is much more spacious and offers free soft drinks (nice!) and electronic charging stations. The lounge opens at 11am daily.
Another popular event that takes place during the Festival is the Eat To The Beat concert series, including a wide range of bands that are normally fun, but not necessarily chart-toppers at the moment. Performances this year will include Air Supply, The Manhattan Transfer, Wilson Phillips, The Pointer Sisters, Survivor, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy (whose official web site, linked here, automatically plays music when you visit it).
Would you like to win a brand new Disney trading pin with Mickey Mouse or Lumiere? Just send an e-mail to me at [Sweepstakes is over]. I’ll add you to our mailing list (if you aren’t already on it), and enter you into a drawing. I’ll then select two lucky winners. Each will get one of these two pins (our choice on who gets what). I’ll select the recipients on or around October 9, 2013. I’ll request your mailing address, and then send a prize to you. It’s that easy! This give-away is open to everyone, everywhere.
Congratulations to the winners: Denise from Michigan, and Candy from Wisconsin.
