Based on the announcements made a D23, we know significant changes are coming to Epcot: New names for the lands of the park, a Mary Poppins attraction in the UK Pavilion, a new Play! Pavilion (in the former Wonders of Life), the Space 220 restaurant, a new Festival Pavilion, and the interim nighttime spectacular and successor to Illuminations, Epcot Forever.
Now we have a place where we can go to see models and updates on these exciting developments.
“Walt Disney Imagineering Presents: The Epcot Experience,” the new exhibit about the future of the park, is now open at the Odyssey Pavilion. This is located between Test Track and the Mexico Pavilion.
Epcot 3D Model
The centerpiece of the Epcot Experience is a huge, animated 3D map loosely representing the layout of Epcot. Disney first unveiled the model at D23. Dramatic lighting and projection effects make the model come to life.
Let’s take a look:
Check out the video of the Epcot Experience presentation, which highlights many of the changes coming to the park:
Beyond the Epcot diorama in the center of the display, there are plenty of terrific posters and other displays in the outer edges of the facility:
There are a few additional models in the outer ring of the display, including this one of the new festival center that will be in the front of the park, not far from Spaceship Earth.
There are many fun poster, presented in classic Epcot style, showcasing the past and future of the park.
