Four Great Places to Enjoy Ice Cream at Disney World

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream.

There are many things that are magical about the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. The one that I like the most is that calories cease to exist after you enter Disney property. Okay, that may not really be true, I would like to think that you will easily burn off all the calories you will consume given all the walking you do around Disney World.

All that walking means that you can indulge in a few extra tasty treats. One of my favorite treats is ice cream. Fortunately, Disney provides many opportunities to indulge in my favorite cold, creamy goodness.

Let’s take a look at for incredible places that Disney World where you can enjoy ice cream:

1 – Plaza Ice Cream Parlor

Location: Magic Kingdom, Main Street USA

Enjoy turn-of-the-century Victorian charm together with a nostalgic back look at the ice cream parlors of yesteryear in the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street USA. Enjoy hand scooped ice cream as well as specialty treats like ice cream floats, waffle bowl sundaes, and ice cream cones that come complete with chocolate Mickey Mouse ears.

In addition, you can order the Mickey kitchen sink sundaes which comes with its own collectible sink. This ice cream sundae is a perfect dessert for two people, and should not be confused with the mammoth kitchen sink sundaes that you can get at Beaches And Cream (more on that below).

2 – Ghirardelli

Location: Disney Springs

Enjoy the San Francisco treat that has been available since 1852: Ghirardelli ice cream is some of the best in the land. Yes, you will probably have to wait in a line that stretches to the door before you can place your order, but the crowds and the wait are definitely worth it. The ice cream is delicious and the toppings like peanut butter sauce and hot fudge sauce are truly decadence.

3 – Beaches & Cream

Location: Disney’s Beach Club Resort at Disney’s Boardwalk

This quick service restaurant and ice cream shop is small in size but big on taste and fun. The menu offers a surprisingly large variety of handspun ice cream drinks as well as delicious ice cream sundaes.

If you and your crowd are truly hungry, be sure to order The Kitchen Sink. You know you are in for a special treat when your server comes out and the sirens begin to go off. The unforgettable kitchen sink includes eight scoops of ice cream in nearly every imaginable topping and accompaniment possible, including hot fudge, butterscotch, peanut butter topping, chocolate syrup, marshmallow cream, strawberry topping, and pineapple topping. All of that is in addition to extra treats such as a banana, angel food cake, a brownie, chocolate cookies, and jelly orange slices. It even comes with sprinkles and an entire can of whip cream on top.  Wow!

4 – L’Artisan de Glaces

Location: Epcot, France pavilion

Ah, the French. They truly know how to live. Since L’Artisan de Glaces opened in 2012 it has been a hit. It features 16 flavors of delicious ice cream. All the ice cream flavors are all made with fresh ingredients in-house. They are also all delicious. If you are looking for a special treat or for a bit of energy to help you make your way around World Showcase, be sure to stop in and enjoy some extremely delicious ice cream.
