So what would happen if you combined Disney hospitality and innovation with a cruise? You would get the Disney Cruise Line! One of the ships in the Disney fleet is the Disney Dream, and those who have had the pleasure of cruising on this ship will tell you that the name fits – a dream cruise ship that delivers an extraordinary vacation experience.

Carnival Dream cruises are great, but there is something about Disney that brings a little extra magic to every aspect of a vacation. Whether the vacation is for just adults or adults with kids of any age, the Disney Dream cruise ship is the perfect choice.

Bahamas

The Disney Dream cruise departs from Port Canaveral in Florida and goes to the Bahamas.  This is one of the most popular destinations for Disney cruisers, partly because of the chance to visit Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.

If you are interested in a different destination, other Disney cruise ships service Alaska, Europe, and the Caribbean.

Castaway Cay

Because Castaway Cay is one of the things that keep cruisers returning to the Disney Dream again and again, let’s talk about that first.

Some think that only the very rich will ever have the chance to vacation on a private island. Chalk it up to more of that Disney magic, but when you choose a cruise on the Disney Dream, spending time on a private island is part of the package.

Unlike other beaches in some parts of the Bahamas, Castaway Cay will not be packed with loud and rowdy vacationers. The island is ONLY for the use of guests of the Disney Cruise line. When you step onto Castaway Cay, you will be treated like royalty from the moment you arrive until you depart.

All manner of water craft are available for your use. You could spend the afternoon snorkeling, kayaking or hiking along one of the nature trails. If relaxation is what you crave, you could enjoy an outdoor massage while listening to the sounds of the sea gently lapping against the shore.

As you would expect from Disney, there are plenty of very well-supervised children’s activities. That means that you can let the kids have fun with others their own age while you have a little “grown up time”.  Then you can meet up and do something all together as a family.

Castaway Cay is sure to provide some of the most special memories of your trip, but getting there is also something quite spectacular.

The Disney Dream

If you have ever enjoyed any type of Disney vacation then you know no detail is overlooked and that guest service is the top priority. The Disney magic that you have come to expect can certainly be found in every aspect of the Disney Dream.

As with any cruise vacation, the time spent on the ship is just as important as the destination. The Disney Dream will not disappoint.

When you think of Disney, the first thing that might come to mind is that everything will be geared toward children. While there is plenty for kids to do aboard the Disney Dream, this is also a fun ship for adults.

Spa

While your kids are off enjoying some supervised children’s activities and special “kids only” areas, you can pamper yourself with a relaxing spa treatment. Get a massage, a facial, or a manicure and pedicure for your night out in the ship’s nightclub.

Gym

With all of the amazing food choices onboard the Disney Dream, which are discussed below, it is a good idea to try and get in a workout each day. The designers of the Disney Dream made it easy to do just that by adding a state of the art gym as well as a jogging track. You can stay on point with your fitness goals even while on vacation.

Club

Another favorite spot of adults on the Disney Dream is the nightclub Evolution. Here you will be able to enjoy a drink and dance the night away.

Fine Dining

The food options on cruise ships are notoriously opulent, and dining choices on the Disney Dream are no exception.  No matter the time of the day or night, you will be able to find yummy meals and snacks. There are plenty of dining options on board, so even the pickiest of eaters will be able to find something that they will like.

If you are trying to eat healthy, or want to indulge a bit while on vacation, the chefs on board the ship can help.

Adults Only Pool

Kids are great, and there is a time for splashing and playing with them in the pool. There are other times, however, when you may just want a bit of peace and quiet. Perhaps you would like to lounge quietly by the pool and read a good book, or take a swim without the risk of being kicked by a little swimmer. Quiet Cove pool is an adults-only pool on the Disney Dream that gives grown-ups the chance to enjoy a bit of “me time”.

Great Big Options For Little Ones

While there is plenty for adults to do while on the Disney Dream, this IS a Disney cruise ship, so you know that there are also many options for kids of all ages.

From the It’s a Small World Nursery for the youngest cruisers (3 months to 3 years) to Vibe, an area just for teens, there is something for every age group. Some other kid-friendly spots on the ship are described below.

Disney’s Oceaneer Club

Filtered computers, a library, and a 103-inch television make for a fun space for kids ages 3 to 10.

Edge

Kids ages 11 to 13 can participate in a show to be performed on the cruise, become a ghost hunter or learn a bit about science.

Vibe

Vibe is for teens ages 13-17. They have their own coffee bar, dance floor and a teen-only pool. While the area is fun and relaxed it is also supervised so parents don’t have to worry about their teens.

As you can see, no matter the ages of those in your family, a vacation on the Disney Dream really IS a dream!
