Disney World Shows

Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida is famous for its theme parks, its water parks, and its franchise. But if roller coasters aren’t for you, and even if you don’t like classic Disney characters, like Mickey Mouse, there are some reasons to visit the theme park resort, anyway. Among the reasons Walt Disney World Resort is called the most magical place on earth, you will not find “appealing to a select crowd.” For the foodies, Walt Disney World Resort offers to-die-for dining. For the shopaholics, it offers miles of shops and boutiques for the perusing pleasure of the guests. If neither of those appeals to you, perhaps you might find your enjoyment of Walt Disney World Resort in the form of Disney World Shows.

Truly, there is practically palpable magic in the air during Disney’s parades and performances. Those tiny special moments that family vacations are constructed to create come abundantly during these special Disney events, designed to bring people together and celebrate all of the good things about life that make it worth living. Sometimes, everyone needs to be reminded of those moments when life gets hard, and so where better to be reminded than the most magical place on earth?

Disney is a master at creating amazing shows - from parades to fireworks.
Disney is a master at creating amazing shows – from parades to fireworks.

Nobody throws a parade like Walt Disney World Resort. These handful of parades, usually led by the host with the most himself, Mickey Mouse, are a spectacular display of bright colors, up-beat music, and breathtaking floats. See your favorite Disney characters come alive as they celebrate, life, fun, and happiness in a Disney parade!

Main Street, U.S.A. in the Magic Kingdom is host to most of the parades offered by Walt Disney, of course. They are in no specificly magical order: The Main Street Electrical Parade, the Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade, the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Street Party, and the world famous holiday parade Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, which is part of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

Though Disney’s Hollywood Studios is host to far fewer parades, their Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun! makes up for it by being magical enough for at least a dozen parades. Characters from your favorite Disney Pixar flicks sing, dance, and party it up in this street spectacular!

Fireworks

One of the things Walt Disney is known for – it is in their logo, for crying out loud – is their nightly fireworks display. Truly, offering some of the most spectacular fireworks in the whole entire world, proving that the magic doesn’t end when Disney Park Hours do. There is a reason that after hours is called the “magic hours.” Walt Disney enhances the experience with special dining events, and other unique ways for you to be a spectator to this lighting up of the night sky. This includes incorporating fireworks into some of the masterful parades! One such amazing dining event is the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party. This Dessert Party, held on the scenic Tomorrowland Terrace, allows you to sample tempting sweet treats while enjoying a front row seat to the fireworks show.

Another special show that gives you a new and unique view of the fireworks is the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage, featuring your favorite Pirates from Disney’s Peter Pan, Captain Hook and Smee. Enjoy swashbuckling songs, adventurous story-telling, and snacks and beverages that enhance the experience of fireworks, all while  viewing from a ship sailing the Seven Seas Lagoon. This unique view of the fireworks and the Magic Kingdom theme park from afar is as breath-taking as the up-close-and-personal one offered by the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party.

Disney Character Greetings

One of the other fun ways that Disney brings the magic to life, rather literally, is in the character greetings they offer around their world famous theme parks. You can meet your classic favorites like Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto, or even your brand new favorites like Jack Sparrow, Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Princess Tiana, and Prince Naveen. Characters are available to sign autographs, take photos, show you the proper way to curtsy, and even give pirate lessons.

Vacation Packages

To make exploring the good things in life a bit easier on your wallet, consider booking a Disney vacation package to save yourself some money. The Magic Your Way Package, for example, allows you to bundle your vacation expenses – dining, lodging, and theme park tickets. Bundling, it turns out, can save you a bundle, on average to 30% – 50%. Combined with other offers and discounts like the Armed Forces discount, the Florida Resident discount, or the limited time special offer discounts you can save even more! Talk with a Disney Authorized Travel Agent to get the most bang for your buck – they are trained to be experts at saving you money, and even have special, top-secret access to the most up-to-date information about special offers and discounts that can be used to boost you savings. That way, you don’t need to worry about how much your Disney vacation is costing you; you can just enjoy it!

One more bit of advice, if you show up minutes prior to show time for one of Disney’s fantabulous live shows, don’t expect a front row seat. In fact, you may not get in at all, even if you show up hours before the day of. Reservations can be made for many of these special events days in advances – weeks, months even. Check show times online, and make plans so that you can be sure to see and do all of the things you want to experience. You wouldn’t want to miss out because of poor planning. Even if you can’t make a reservation, tips for viewing these Disney live shows can be found online, including where the best place is from which to watch a certain parade, and more.
