We’ve known for some time that the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will open on July 11, and that EPCOT and Hollywood Studios will follow on July 15. We’ve also known that you will need a reservation to get into the park, in addition to a valid admission ticket. This will help Disney control capacity in the parks.
We now know when reservations will open, as well as some additional details on how they will work.
Disney World Park Reservations Open
Here are the key dates for reserving entry into the Walt Disney World Parks:
June 22, 2020: Guests with reservations at Disney Resort Hotels, as well as other select hotels (likely Good Neighbor hotels, such as those in the Disney Springs Resort area) can make reservations.
June 26, 2020: Annual Passholders can make reservations.
June 28, 2020: Existing ticket holders can make reservations.
The new reservation system is called the Disney Park Pass System. Reservations will open starting at 7 am ET each day.
Disney will make reservations available through September 26, 2021. This suggests the reservation system is going to be around for quite a while.
New Reservations in 2021
Starting June 28, Guests can buy new Disney Resort hotel packages and theme park tickets and make their park reservations for arrivals starting in 2021.
In order to make reservations, you will need a My Disney Experience account to make reservations. If you’ve taken a trip to Disney World in the past few years, you probably have an account already – its where you (use to) make Advanced Dining Reservations and FastPass+ reservations. Remember those? 😀
You will also need a valid theme park ticket or Annual Pass that is linked to your My Disney Experience account.
If you have a Disney Resort hotel reservation, you should also link it to your My Disney Experience account before you begin.
Based on the dates above, you will be able to log into your My Disney Experience account and view a calendar of available reservation times.
Walt Disney World Annual Passholders can only make three Disney Park Pass reservations at any given time. Passholders with resort reservations can reserve up to 14 park days at a time.
