If you have a plan, and preferably a bit of patience, spending New Year’s Eve in the Disney Parks can be a blast! We understand that most Disney folks tend to plan their vacations and have a pretty fun time doing it, but we need to stress that understanding park hours and schedules is even more important on major holidays. A good plan will help you enjoy heading into the 20’s!
Let’s take a look at what is happening around Disney World to ring in the New Year:
The Magic Kingdom
New Year’s Eve Park Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m.
Extra Magic Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m. – 2:00 a.m.
Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks will have two viewings on December 30 and 31st at 6:30 p.m. and 11:50 p.m. plus Frontierland and Tomorrowland will be throwing some celebration dance parties around 7:00 p.m.!
New Year’s Eve Park Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m.
Celebrating with each country as it finds the New Year, EPCOT’s World Showcase will usher in 2020 as it arrives in each of it’s represented nations! Each pavilion will give its own form of welcome to the new year!
EPCOT Forever will have showings at 6:30 p.m. and 11:40 p.m.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
New Year’s Eve Park Hours: 6:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m.
The “Wonderful World of Animation” will have a showing at 6:05 p.m. then there is “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” at 6:30 p.m. and on December 31, at 7:00 p.m. there will be a Dance Party on Center Stage!
Just after midnight (12:00 p.m.) “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” is ready for the jump to light speed!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Park Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m.
For you pin traders, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be hosting a Pin Trading Event where an exclusive New Year’s Pin will be available to purchase. However, you might want to get there early. The wristbands for this event will be distributed when the park opens.
The park will be sporting some New Year’s themed food and beverages to enjoy all evening and “Rivers of Light: We Are One” will play at 6:30 p.m., 8:00 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. The Tree of Life will have it’s own countdown to midnight to usher in the New Year.
