3 – Make FastPass+ Reservations
Quick take: FastPass+ allows you to skip lines and have more fun with less waiting. Learn about it, and take advantage of it.
Disney knows that research and planning are important to helping you have the best possible Disney vacation. They believe in this so strongly in this that they have developed a system, at a cost of more than $1 billion, called FastPass+. FastPass+ allows you to make advanced reservations for many of the attractions and shows in the Disney theme parks. Rather than wait in a standby queue for 45 minutes, you make a reservation in advance. You then get to show up within the one hour reservation window, and ride with little or no wait. That’s cool, isn’t it?
FastPass+ is a relatively recent development, and Disney may make adjustments to it from time to time. Currently, you can make reservations for three experiences each day, and all your reservations need to be in one park.
Day Visitor: If you are a day visitor, meaning you are not staying in a Disney Resort Hotel, you can use FastPass+ by purchasing your tickets in advance and making reservations up to 30 days in advance on the My Disney Experience site. Create an account on the site, link your ticket to your account, and make your reservations.
Disney Resort Hotel Guest: If you are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, you can make your FastPass+ reservations up to 60 days in advance using the My Disney Experience web site or mobile app for your smart phone. Disney will contact you in advance with details on how to use their web site to make your reservations.
Take Away: Make plans, and use FastPass+. You will save time waiting in line, and you will have more fun.
