Disney’s Riviera Resort is not only luxurious, chic, and artsy, but it’s also lots of fun! There’s something for everyone whether you want to splash around in a pool or keep your fitness routine!
Let’s take a look at Riviera Resort’s recreation, courtesy of the nice folks at Disney Media Relations!
If you’re an early riser, don’t miss the Opening Regatta! Half an hour before the pool opens, head down to the Riviera Pool where you can catch crews assembling to race their boats and see who is the fastest! Once the race is over, this family-friendly pool is open!
S’il Vous Play
Adjacent to the Riviera Pool is the S’il Vous Play water play area.
This adorable interactive water feature is inspired by the public fountains of Europe, but it is uniquely Disney with characters from Fantasia! There are a couple of slides, some fountains, and a bucket that dumps water occasionally.
Beau Soleil Pool
The Beau Soleil Pool is a calm, leisure pool perfect for families with smaller children who just want to be in the water or adults who want to relax without being splashed.
Beau Soleil features an infinity edge and a hot tub.
Health and Fitness
Having fun is important, but staying healthy even on vacation is also a priority for many.
Athletique Fitness Center is the 24-hour fitness facility at Disney’s Riviera Resort. The gym offers weight living, treadmills, and stretching equipment powered by Technogym
If you’re looking for something more informal (and a lot more fun), visit the movie lawn on Wednesday and Saturday at 7:30 AM for Shake a Tail Feather. This family-friendly warm-up is sure to get your moving for a great day! A Cast Member is happy to lead you in this fun activity.
On Mondays and Fridays at 7:30 AM, you can try Yoga instead! The class is instructor-led, and a great way to stretch out for your day ahead!
If you’re looking to get moving while having some Disney fun, check out the Skyliner Rally Scavenger Hunt. On Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, the scavenger hunt is at 11:30 am, and on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 3:30 pm. This family-friendly event takes you on a self-led tour of the Disney Skyliner Resorts including Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort or Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. You’ll start at the Eventi Room on the first floor of Disney’s Riviera Resort, get your first clue and a map, and follow the clues around the resorts. As you follow the trail, you’ll take photos and videos along the way. But you only have two hours to walk between 6,000 and 8,000 steps, so get moving!
If you’re a runner, don’t miss the Topolino Trot Fun Run, which takes place every Sunday at 7:30 am. This 1.2-mile run starts at the movie lawn and takes you around Barefoot Bay. There is a fee for this event, but you’ll get a medal just for finishing!
There are also plenty of activities at Disney’s Riviera Resort for guests who enjoy more relaxing activities.
Taste the Story is a food event featuring small bites and sips paired with stories. At the opening, the theme was “European Holiday Traditions”, but this will change seasonally! Just head to the Eventi Room on Saturdays at 3:30 in the afternoon.
If you’re looking for something a little more artsy, try out the Mediterranean Masterpiece on Thursdays at 3:30 pm. During the opening, the activity was painting a lighted Christmas Tree, but, again, this will change seasonally.
Another artsy option is Painting on the Riviera, which is held on Sundays at 3 pm in the Eventi Room. This instructor-led painting class teaches you how to paint a Disney-inspired picture! Disney brings in local artists to teach these classes!
Perhaps you would like to combine movement and art. The Art Scavenger Hunt is perfect for you! This self-led scavenger hunt takes you through the Riviera Resort to find some of the very cool artwork unique to this resort. Just stop by the Disney Vacation Club sales desk to pick up your map!
Daily between noon and 1 pm, head to the Activity Lawn to assemble your own race car and race them down a Monaco-inspired track during the Riviera Grand Prix
There are also Lawn Games daily on the activity lawn from 10 am to 11 am. Guests will enjoy giant-sized checkers, Connect 4, and Foot Snooker plus chess and bocce ball available throughout the day on dedicated board and lawn locations, respectively.
Disney’s Riviera Resort also has plenty of entertainment, especially in the evenings!
Every evening from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, meet Disney Cast Members at the firepit in front of the Riviera Pool.
Right after the fire, enjoy a movie under the stars at 7 pm. There’s a different movie every night!
If you’d rather hear a story, head inside to the Eventi Room at 7 pm nightly to hear Disney stories inspired by European Folklore!
Looking forward to recreational activities at the Riviera Resort?
