The Disney Dining Plan (often called the DDP) allows guests to prepay for their dining before their vacation. Some people swear that the Dining Plan is a bargain while others feel that they don’t get enough bang for their buck.
Regardless, anyone who purchases the DDP will now pay more because Disney raised the prices of the Dining Plan at all levels.
It’s important to note that the prices listed below are per person per night of stay. Each night will cover multiple meals, depending on the entitlements of the plan level you select.
The quick-service plan includes two quick-service meals and two snacks per person per night of stay plus a refillable mug.
In 2016, the price was $44.13 for adults and $19.04 for kids aged 3 to 9. In 2017, the same plan will cost $48.19 for adults and $20.88 for kids.
When you break it down, you’re paying approximately $9 for each meal/snack and $9 per day for the refillable mug on the adult plan and $4 for each on the child plan making this the most affordable plan.
Regular Dining Plan
The regular plan includes one quick-service meal and one table-service meal per night of stay. Guests on the regular dining plan also get two snacks per person per night and a refillable mug.
In 2016, this plan cost $63.70 for adults and $22.85 for kids. The 2017 price is $69.35 and $24.95.
This plan costs about $14 per meal/snack and $14 per day for the refillable mug. For kids, it’s about $5. When you think about what you would pay for a table-service meal in Disney World, this is a pretty reasonable plan with some freedom to dine at a variety of restaurants.
Deluxe Dining Plan
The Deluxe Dining Plan provides the most food, and many people say that it’s too much for one person to eat in a day. The plan includes three table-service meals per night of stay, two snacks per night of stay, and a refillable mug. If you choose this plan, it is imperative that you make Advanced Dining Reservations at the 180 day mark to get the most out of your plan.
All of this has gone up just a few dollars from 2016 for the smallest price increase. In 2016, this plan cost $103.57 for adults and $35.49 for kids. In 2017, it will cost you $106.68 and $38.75.
This is the most expensive plan costing about $21 per day for meals/snacks and $21 a day per mug for adults and $8 for kids.
