The Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and the Disneyland Resort in California are donating their extra food to help their local communities.
The company decided to close Disney World and Disneyland until at least the end of the month due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
In Florida, Disney Cast Members joined together with the Disney Distribution Services to share fresh salads and prepared foods with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
Disney’s team in California started making their food donations over the weekend. They sent dairy, fruit, vegetables, and packaged food to Second Harvest Food Bank for distribution throughout Orange County.
Disneyland and Disney World donate more than a million meals each year to their local Second Harvest Food Bank as part of their ongoing programs to reduce waste and support their local communities.
