Disney Cruise Line To Conduct Simulation Sailing June 29 – July 1

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has given the Disney Cruise Line clearance to hold a simulation sailing from June 29 to July 1, 2021.  The simulation will take place on the Disney Dream from Port Canaveral with volunteer passengers.  Volunteer passengers must be at least 18 years old.  Disney has not released details on how it will select the volunteer passengers.

The two-night simulation will allow Disney to test its operations with new health and safety protocols.

Disney’s plan for simulated cruises suggests that the company will not go with the mandate for having at least 95% vaccinated passengers and 98% vaccinated crew members.  If Disney was going to minimum vaccination rates, it could bypass a simulation sailing.

Disney likely took this path because it would be difficult to attain high percentages of vaccinated passengers with many children onboard.
