We’ve known since mid- 2019 that the Disney Cruise Line is working to create a second port in the Bahamas: Lighthouse Point.

Lighthouse Point is located in the peninsula on the island of Eleuthera, and will be Disney Cruise Line’s second destination in the Bahamas, joining the very popular Castaway Cay. The completion date for Lighthouse Point is estimated for 2022-2023.

Disney has launched a website for the location to provide details and updates.

Lighthouse Point to have Disney Imagineer Influence

Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde, who designed Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Aulani, is hard at work on the project.  Joe has spent time studying the art and culture of the Bahamas with experts, and the influences will certainly be represented in the finished Lighthouse Point.

Disney has always considered environmental impact in their projects, and in this case, has made a commitment to move forward with Lighthouse Point only if able to do so in an environmentally responsible manner.

There is still much planning work to be done before Disney can take the next steps. The new Lighthouse Point website will be your resource for information and detailed progress on the project. Check it out!
