Disney Continues Construction On New Polynesian Monorail StationHerb Leibacher·April 21, 2021Disney Resort Hotels Disney continues to make progress on the overall refurbishment of the Polynesian Village Resort. In late 2020 we saw concept art for the exterior, and in March we saw photos of the reworked, Moana-themed room interiors. Construction is also well underway on the new monorail station. Let’s take a look: The new entrance for the Poly and the monorail station is starting to take shape. Some large pieces of steel are still staged in the parking lot, waiting to be installed. The resort’s Tiki mascot is hard at work! You can see the new monorail station platform taking shape, with the existing resort monorail beam cutting through. The new platform is starting to come together. Here you see the existing monorail beam and the new load and unload platform. The front of the Polynesian Resort is a construction zone, but it is still nestled in a little piece of paradise. You can see the sliding doors that lead into the second floor of the Poly’s lobby in the background. Looking forward to the new Poly monorail station?
