We all know that Disney World vacations are expensive. Between travel, hotel, and park admission, costs add up a very quickly. Sometimes, adding the extra expense of paying for souvenirs becomes the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
If you have visited any Walmart or Target in the past 20 years, you certainly know that you can purchase Disney merchandise in many places. However, the merchandise you find in these locations is not quite the same as what you find inside the Disney parks. The Disney-branded merchandise you find in your local store is often lower quality than what Disney offers in the parks, and it doesn’t specifically relate to the parks.
Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a place where you could purchase genuine Disney parks merchandise at deep discounts?
Actually, there are multiple places where you can do this. Two of them are located in Orlando, not too far from Walt Disney World.
Inside Premium Outlets
There are two Disney’s Character Warehouse locations in Orlando. Both are located in Orlando Premium Outlets Malls. One is on Vineland Avenue, a short drive from Disney Springs, while the other is on International Drive, which is a bit further from Walt Disney World but is actually very close to Universal Studios Orlando.
Here are the store details for the Disney’s Character Warehouse locations in Orlando:

Checking Out The Store
I recently visited the Disney’s Character Warehouse store on Vineland Avenue. I’ve heard that this location has a wider variety of merchandise than the one on International Drive, but I haven’t personally seen the location on International Drive.
The first thing to know is that simply getting to Orlando Premium Outlets can be an adventure. This mall is not far from the major interstate I4, but traffic on the small 2 land road leading to the mall can get very busy. Around holidays you can expect to get caught in a traffic jam.
The store carries a variety of Disney merchandise, including clothing, housewares, and souvenirs. All of these items came from the Disney parks, so you can rest assured they will be of high quality.
However, some items in the store may be scratch and dent specials. Be sure to check the merchandise carefully before you purchase it.
Let’s take a look around the store and some of the deals you can find in the late spring of 2014:
Is It Worth it?
A visit to Disney’s Character Warehouse is definitely a hit-or-miss experience. The merchandise in the store changes frequently, and it very well may not have what you want. Selection and clothing sizes can be limited, and much of what you will see in the store is off-season.
If you have been to Disney World many times, have the luxury of a long vacation, and really enjoy bargain-hunting, you may make out very well by visiting Disney’s Character Warehouse. Especially if you need to purchase many gifts, taking the time to stop here before you finish up your shopping at Disney Springs or in the Disney parks might help you save you some big money.
However, if you are short on time during your Disney vacation, or if you just don’t enjoy bargain-hunting, it may be better to skip Disney’s Character Warehouse. Yes, there are great deals in the warehouse, but there are no guarantees that you will find anything you like.
