Dining in Disney World has becoming an attraction in itself. Disney has a captive audience, so they could just offer regular theme park food, but they’ve always made dining fun with specially themed food, unique beverages, and really fun restaurants.
They’ve even made dining more enjoyable by offering things like mobile ordering and special events.
Today we’re going to talk about five dining changes coming to Disney World this summer! Let’s get started!
1 – Restaurantosaurus Introduces New Combo
Restaurantosaurus in Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s Dinoland USA is the former cafeteria for paleontology students. Restaurantosaurus offers several different combos including the Burger and Brew Combo, but they’re introducing a new Burgers and Sundaes combo this summer.
This combo allows you to choose from a variety of sandwiches like the gourmet burger, chicken sandwich, veggie burger, or even a salad. You also get a side of either fries or onion rings plus a drink. To finish off the meal, you get two scoops of ice cream, which you can top off with specia toppings from a new toppings bar!
This Burgers and Sundaes meal is available only for dinner on select nights this summer. Adults will pay $22.99 plus tax, and kids ages 3 to 9 are $14.99 plus tax.
2 – Backlot Express adds more dining space
Backlot Express has become a very popular restaurant in Disney’s Hollywood Studios not only because they have a variety of dining options, but also because they have a ton of movie memorabilia.
Backlot Express is located adjacent to Star Tours, and with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge coming this fall, they need to make room for the influx of guests expected for the grand opening and months to come. To do that, they had to remove some of the props and add more seating. While this means you won’t get to see as much movie memorabilia, it will be good for finding a seat!
3 – Hotel Restaurants now offering Mobile Ordering
Disney introduced mobile ordering to allow guests to save time waiting in line at restaurants. Instead, you can place your order while you’re waiting in line for rides then check in when you get to the restaurant and wait in a separate, shorter, line to get your food!
There are over 20 Disney World restaurants in the theme parks and hotels that offer mobile ordering. Now, mobile ordering is expanding at Disney resort hotels. Everything Pop Shopping and Dining at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, The Mara at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Contempo Café at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will now participate in mobile ordering via MyDisneyExperience.
