Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs opened in 2016 as part of the retheming venture. This pastry shop sells artistic masterpieces that are a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds.
One of their signature cakes is the Mickey character cake that looks like a Mickey ear hat but with a tail and is made of flavored chiffon cake, mousse, and either buttercream or fruit jelly. They have other Disney-themed cakes too, but this one is a classic.
This summer, Amorette’s has offered a Magical Extra in the form of cake decorating classes to teach guests how to create this stunning edible work of art.
During the 90-minute class, a Disney Pastry Chef will share stories and tips all while describing, demonstrating, and teaching the process in the show kitchen. A small group of up to 12 guests will also have the opportunity to make their own Mickey character cake.
The class starts at 9am, before the shop even opens for the day, and is currently held on Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. The current schedule runs through the end of August, but it’s possible that this offering will continue.
The cost for the event is $129 and includes the class and all materials, plus they’ll package your cake for you to take home with you or back to your hotel. They’ll even hold it for you while you explore Disney Springs and you can stop and pick it up before you leave. You’ll also enjoy complimentary specialty coffee, water, mimosas, and bellinis. The cost is for two guests, and guests must be at least 10 years old to participate.
