Each year since 2007, Disney has installed more than 200,000 LED Christmas lights on Cinderella Castle. They call this installation “Dream Lights.”
The lights were installed back in late September of this year, but were not fist turned on until November 8, 2013. They will likely stay on until early January 2014.
Disney turns the lights on each evening at 6:30pm, when it is already very dark in Central Florida. The process starts with a short show that lasts about seven minutes.
The show includes Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Cinderella together with the Fairy Godmother who uses a little magic to turn on the lights.
