The My Disney Experience App has been a game-changer for guests. The App has given Park-goers the freedom to check wait times, make dining reservations, add FastPasses, and view their photos – all in the palm of their hand.
It appears Disney is making efforts to upgrading some of the app’s features. If you’re familiar with My Disney Experience, but haven’t been on the application recently, you will notice quite a few changes and additions.
One of the additions was just rolled out: Dining Wait Times.
Now guests will be able to view what the approximate wait times are for various dining locations around Walt Disney World.
Here is how to access the new dining availability section of the My Disney Experience App. This feature is still new, not all dining locations have been fully uploaded.
Step 1: Open the My Disney Experience (Walt Disney World) App on your mobile device. Near the bottom of the home screen you will find a +. Click on the + and select “Check Dining Availability”.
Step 2: On the next screen, enter the number of people in your party. It appears the App will allow you to enter up to 20 people, but any attempt we made over 5 people resulted in little to no dining locations that could handle the party size. Next, select the date you are planning to be at the Park (select the current date if you’re in the Park).
Step 3: Lastly, find the time slot or meal you plan on reserving, or for which you want to view wait times. As you can see from the screenshot, we selected “Now” in order to see current wait times for walk-up dining. At the time of this article, no walk-ups were available but we could select other meals/times to reserve our spots (like normal).
