Located near Splash Mountain, the Briar Patch shop is like a taste of the old south.
In the still-controversial 1946 Disney movie Song of the South, Br’er Rabbit makes his home in the briar patch. At the start of the movie, Br’er Rabbit makes plans to leave the patch because it is causing him trouble. However, after Br’er Rabbit runs into Br’er Bear and Br’er Fox, he figures out that his home isn’t so bad, and he returns. After all, since Br’er Rabbit was raised in a briar patch, he knows his way around all the thorns, and makes the place a comfortable place to live.
As is often the case around Disney World, when you visit the Briar Patch shop in Frontierland, be sure to take a few minutes to look up. Some of the best details and themed elements at Disney World are overhead. In this case, you will see how the roots of the briar patch form the ceiling for this shop. They are decorated with plenty of different lanterns that bathe the shop in a soft glow.

I believe this shop used to offer more merchandise that was specific to Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and the Song of the South. However, these days, much of the merchandise seems to be general Disney stuff, although you can find a few country-themed items.
