World of Walt recently detailed a number of the changes expected at Walt Disney World for the Magic Kingdom’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. Before the year-long celebration starts, several attractions and shows in the Parks are set to get some love and care. One of those attractions has long been rumored to be Big Thunder Mountain.
The rumblings of Big Thunder Mountain’s refurbishment seems to have been confirmed with permits recently being filed. The permits detail that labor, material, and/or electrical for construction will be needed at BTM’s location. The refurbishment plans were supposed to have taken place earlier this year, but given the fluid COVID-19 situation for much of 2020, projects like this one were canceled or delayed.
It is still unknown what may be added to Big Thunder Mountain (or what will be taken away). There also has been no communication by Disney in regards to when or how long of a closure to expect for Big Thunder.
Are you excited to see Big Thunder Mountain receive some updates?
