Ever since Be Our Guest Restaurant opened just a few years ago as part of Magic Kingdom‘s Fantasyland expansion, it’s been very popular. In fact, it rates right up there with Cinderella’s Royal Table in Cinderella Castle not only in quality but also in how difficult it is to get Advanced Dining Reservations. Be Our Guest only accepts Advanced Dining Reservations for dinner. Lunch is served quick-service style with all the grandeur of a full-service restaurant.
Dinner Menu Change
These things won’t change, but Disney is cooking up a menu makeover for the restaurant’s dinner service.
The current menu is a la carte, but the new menu will take over on July 27th, 2018. The new menu will continue to feature brand new, regionally inspired dishes in a prix fixe (or one price) style with three courses including appetizers, entrees, and a personal dessert platter.
The menu is still being created, but Disney promises it will have something for everyone; after all, Magic Kingdom is very much a family park, so don’t worry about finding something your kids won’t turn up their noses to.
Disney will keep their beloved French Onion soup as a starter, but they’ll also add some new, and quite interesting dishes like charred octopus with citrus-laced fingerling potatoes, pickled hearts of palm, and red pepper coulis. Other options will include escargot with herb garlic butter and toasted gremolata plus assorted meat and artisanal cheeses.
After appetizers, your wait staff will prepare your table for entrees. Try the center cut filet mignon with potatoes au gratin, Romano beans, cipollini marmalade, and a cherry-laced red wine reduction. Another option will be Korobuta pork tenderloins, smoked black-eye pea tortellini, roasted seasonal vegetables, tomato relish, and basil scented tomato water. Finally, the poulet rogue chicken and saffron-infused seafood bouillabaisse.
Disney is being pretty tight-lipped about the dessert selection at Be Our Guest, but I think it’s pretty safe to assume that The Grey Stuff will stick around. They’ve also said that there will be a “personal dessert platter”, so maybe there will be a few one-bite options?
The current menu is pretty awesome, but the new menu sounds even better. I think the choice to move to a prix fixe menu is an interesting one, but I’m sure Disney knows what they’re doing.
Be Our Guest also currently accepts the Disney Dining Plan, and there’s no indication that this will change – especially with a mid-year menu swap.
Be Our Guest menu moves to Prix Fixe (one price): good idea?
