Disney Boardwalk Ample Hills Creamery ice cream

Ample Hills Ice Cream Shops At Disney World To Close

If you are a fan of Ample Hills Creamery, the ice cream location that opened on Disney’s BoardWalk way back in 2016, you have probably been wondering what is going on.

The BoardWalk location seemed successful, and in August 2019, Disney announced that Ample Hills would build a second location in Disney Springs.

Then, the Coronavirus hit.

On March 16, 2020, Ample Hills Creamery filed for bankruptcy.

Just a few days later, on March 20, all of Disney World was closed – including the Ample Hills Creamery location on Disney’s BoardWalk.

Then, a twist.

On July 10, a company called Schmitt Industries purchased Ample Hills.  They planned to restart the Brooklyn manufacturing location, reopen several ice cream stores, and rehire some employees.

However, when Disney’s BoardWalk reopened, the Ample Hills location did not reopen.

It seems Ample Hills will not return to Disney World anytime soon.

Will the BoardWalk location eventually reopen?  Will the Disney Springs location move forward?

Unfortunately, it seems the answers to both questions are no.

Sources report that an Ample Hills representative has confirmed that Ample Hills will not run any Disney World locations in the near term.
