Christmas Comes to Main Street USA

Do you have your Christmas decorations up?

The folks at Disney sure do. The first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party took place on November 7 and was sold out. A Christmas party definitely needs decorations, and this year as always Disney did not disappoint.

In the Magic Kingdom, I find that Main Street USA pulls out all the stops to decorate the street and shops from head to toe.

This year, Disney changed the decorations up a bit. In the past, Disney strung garland across the Main Street. However, this year they made a change and hung wreathes from the sides of the buildings.

Some say that Disney made this change to allow for better views of Cinderella Castle. Others point to the fact that the dragon in the Festival of Fantasy parade, which is 26 feet tall, would not fit beneath the garland. In either event, after seeing these new decorations a few times I have come to like them.

Let’s take a look at Christmas on Main Street USA:
