The Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe takes up an entire block on Liberty Square, directly across from The Hall Of Presidents. Before a remodeling in the late 1990s, there were three separate shops: an antique store (anyone want to carry home a grandfather clock from their vacation?), a silversmith (which fit nicely into the theme of Liberty Square), and a perfume shop (where you could actually have the Cast Members blend your own custom-made perfume).
While the exteriors of the building still make it look like three different buildings, the interior space is one large area with everything Christmas.
Christmas Year ‘Round
Why would Disney want to operate a Christmas shop all year round? Many people love to add Disney themed Christmas ornaments to their Christmas tree each year, but they don’t necessarily come to Disney World at Christmas time. This shop, along with the Disney’s Days of Christmas store in Downtown Disney, allow visitors to get into the holiday spirit and do a bit of Christmas shopping any time of the year.
Ye Old Christmas Shoppe looks like three different stores, but is really just one large shop.
Stop And Smell The Spices
When you enter the store, take a moment to notice the smell. If you pause, you will notice the aroma of pine and spices, which can transport you away from a hot Florida day to a peaceful Christmas place.
Great Ornaments Everywhere
The store has display after display of Disney themed Christmas ornaments. From the looks of it, the glass ornaments in the shape of a traditional three-circled Mickey Mouse are quite popular.
The walls are lined with Disney Christmas ornaments.
Beyond ornaments, there are plenty of other Christmas keepsakes like Christmas stockings, ready to hang by the fireplace at home.
Of course, Mickey and Minnie make plenty of appearances in the merchandise.
